Let’s take the Mini out for a mystery picnic.

The Richmond Riddle Me Adventure

Keen for a no-plan plan? You’ve found the one. The team at Riddle Me Adventures have created mystery picnics by region… and we got to take the Mini out and experience one with them.

Keeping it mysterious

The thing about a mystery picnic is that… we don’t want to ruin it for you. Here’s what we can give away.

We picked the Richmond picnic tour and got started in the morning by solving a riddle that brought us to an undisclosed place, where we picked up our hot or cold drinks, our Riddle Me tote, and our picnic blanket – all included!

The process

The mystery picnic tour had us solve puzzles, ponder riddles, and do activities through an intuitive web flow right on our smartphones! As we cracked, the codes, we were sent to different local producers that sneakily retrieved our mystery goodies.

Each new stop added an element of the picnic to come. And, boy, was it fun!

The picnic

The Coal River Valley has some truly amazing produce, and the mystery treats and bites were top-tier. We were surprisingly full.

And, we can’t give too much away, but there might be a sunny, luxurious, mystery picnic spread hidden somewhere in this article.

The review

Riddle Me Adventures gets an 11 out of 10 in our book. Each local business we visited was full of character and Tasmanian charm and all of the ingredients went so well together to create the most delicious picnic lunch.

Enjoying the sun. New regions to explore. Autumn in Tassie is just best experienced with a bit of mystery!

Naomi and Michael are the minds behind the mystery picnic adventures. As lovers of Tasmania, fine food, wit, and history, this duo is truly such a joy to spend time with.

They’ve created the ultimate way to taste our different Tasmanian regions, while self-driving around at your own pace so you can give each stop your special flair! No research needed. Just follow your GPS and enjoy.

We have the inside scoop. These two are excited to roll out more mystery programming soon for corporate and walking audiences! Stay tuned…

Onward to Bonorong

After exploring Richmond and a few of Riddle Me’s recommendations, we zipped to Bonorong Wildlife Sactuary, less than 20-minutes away.

Conservation and ethical tourism

Bonorong is both a sanctuary, caring for injured, orphaned, or displaced animals, and wildlife park, giving back to Tasmanians and visitors of the state alike.

Getting to know the critters

We saw Tassie devils, watched a wombat being bottle-fed, and snacked with the wallabies on the gorgeous, sunny afternoon. With knowledgable staff and a mission to help rescued animals, Bonorong is a must-visit. And less than half an hour’s drive from Hobart!

Who knew kangaroos so love a chest rub? It was amazing to get to know the native species up close.

Tack on the wildlife park to your picnic mystery and enjoy a day of exploring, learning, and snacking.

P.S. – the mystery spread

Did you think we forgot?

Well done. If you’ve come this far, here’s a spoiler: your final spread might look something like this. But, do you know where we are?

But don’t tell anyone. And enjoy your mystery tour!
