Drive Car Hire is proud to partner with Rathmore, historic farmstead accommodation an hour’s drive from Hobart. The location in the stunning Tasmanian Central Highlands and elegant heritage and rustic chic room options offer a taste of authentic Tassie country living.
Historic country curation
Welcome to Rathmore, where you can stay in the restored c. 1828 heritage listed convict built homestead, revived cottage, or shearers’ quarters, and enjoy a candlelit homestead dinner with wine or meal delivered to your accommodation.
Enjoy the outdoors, both farm and wild animals, starry skies, and the sweet taste of relaxation!
One highlight of your stay will be spotting the semi-aquatic resident platypus in the Dew Rivulet. All ages are invited to help feed and interact with the animals: sheep, chooks (our Tasmanian lingo for chickens), calves, and ducks.
And, for those who crave a nighttime adventure by torch light, you might spot wallabies, quolls, possums, or even Tassie devils. Rathmore is child friendly and close to Mt Field National Park, The Wall in the Wilderness, and the Agrarian Kitchen. Lots to see!
For our electric vehicles
